7 Essential Photoshop Shortcuts for Designers

Here’s a list of my 7 favorite keyboard shortcuts for Adobe Photoshop.

Some of these may be nothing new to you, others may be foreign. Either way, feel free to add on to this list below!

  1. Multiple Undo/Step Backward
    Ctrl + Alt + Z
  2. New Layer
    Ctrl + Shift + N
  3. Duplicate Layer
    Ctrl + J
  4. Save for Web
    Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S
  5. Zoom In / Zoom Out / Fit to Window
    Ctrl + = “Zoom In”
    Ctrl + - “Zoom Out”
    Ctrl + 0 “Fit to Window”
  6. Copy Merged
    Ctrl + Shift + C
  7. Launch ImageReady
    Ctrl + Shift + M

    Shortcuts make my day brighter…
    Here’s a few more good ones.

    [ = Brush size down
    ] = Brush size up
    F (3 versions) = regular / full screen (coupled with a 2nd monitor and the H (hand tool), you’ll move around your documents very quickly. \
    CTRL + T = Free Transform
